Oracle Accelerates Business Intelligence App Deployment

Oracle announced Wednesday that it’s adding more than two dozen Oracle Business Accelerators designed to speed deployment of Oracle Business Intelligence Applications by as much as 60%.   In the case of JD Edwards, Accelerators are available for nine dashboards tied to two BI Apps: Financials, and Supply Chain and Order Management.  See the entire article here.

Import data from JDE into Excel and preserve leading zeroes

You submitted a report in JD Edwards and selected CSV output as an option.  After retrieving the CSV report into Excel, some of the columns that contain leading zeros and look perfectly fine in PDF,  drop the leading zeros in Excel.  Has this ever happened to you?  Did you blame JD Edwards for this behavior?  You shouldn’t have!  This is actually an Excel issue. Financial Report tweaking – consolidations

The existing Financial Reports that come standard with JDEdwards are not pretty, I must admit.  They tend to get very long due to 0-balance accounts printing.  Sometimes it’s hard to figure out which accounts are listed, because only the Account Description prints, not the Account Number.    And how do you get them to print the balances for specific Business Units, vs. rolling them up to the Company level, or maybe even using a category Code to consolidate?  The last topic is the focus of this article:  report consolidations.
